Thadayam Web Series Story

The story is set in 1999. SI Adhiyaman is nearing the end of his police career and is waiting for voluntary retirement when he is asked to look into a theft. Another village soon reports a similar incident, and Adhiyaman notices details that suggest the cases may not be isolated.

His search for a lead takes the investigation towards the state border. When Adhiyaman and his team reach Andhra Pradesh, they discover that the pattern goes far beyond theft. A series of murders appears to carry similar signs, forcing the officers to examine earlier crime scenes and compare what the victims had in common.

The case grows more dangerous as another killing takes place while the police are already investigating. The team splits up, questions villagers and survivors, and follows evidence that points towards more than one possible offender. Each new clue widens the search instead of bringing an easy answer.

Adhiyaman’s strength in the series is observation rather than flashy action. He keeps returning to small details in the victims’ belongings and statements, gradually building a theory about how the offenders choose their targets and move between locations.

By the final episodes, the police narrow the search to the suspects’ last known location. The evidence suggests that Adhiyaman may be dealing with multiple people rather than a single killer, setting up a coordinated attempt to separate and arrest them. The six-episode season therefore works as one continuous investigation, moving from an apparently ordinary theft case to a much larger murder mystery.

Thadayam OTT Platform and Release Date

Thadayam premiered on ZEE5 on February 27, 2026. The complete six-episode first season is available on the platform in Tamil, with Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada audio options also listed.

As of September 2026, ZEE5 has also started promoting Thadayam 2. The follow-up season is officially listed as coming soon, with Samuthirakani returning as Adhiyaman. A confirmed premiere date for Season 2 has not yet been announced, so the currently available season remains the six-episode 2026 original.

What Kind of Series Is Thadayam?

Thadayam is a compact police procedural and serial-crime thriller. It does not depend on a large ensemble or multiple unrelated subplots; most of the tension comes from Adhiyaman’s attempt to recognise the pattern connecting crimes across villages and state borders.

Its short episode lengths keep the investigation moving quickly, while Samuthirakani’s restrained performance gives the series the feel of a methodical case file rather than a conventional action thriller. The announced second season suggests that Adhiyaman is being developed as a continuing investigator for a new case.
