LBW Web Series Cast

Vikranth as Rangan

Vikranth plays Rangan, a former cricket player who is introduced after his glory days are behind him. He is working as a physical education teacher when the struggling Muthu Nagar Cricket Academy needs someone capable of rebuilding its team. Rangan becomes the coach around whom the series is structured, and his own disappointments make him understand the fear, pride and insecurity of the young players he trains.

Sindhu Shyam as Rukmini

Sindhu Shyam appears as Rukmini, the woman closely associated with the Muthu Nagar Cricket Academy and its effort to regain its lost standing. She believes the academy can recover if the right players are brought together and if Rangan accepts the challenge of guiding them. Rukmini also becomes an important stabilising presence when conflicts inside the academy threaten to damage the team.

Niyathi Kadambi as Thangam

Niyathi Kadambi plays Thangam, one of the young cricketers whose personal struggle becomes an important part of the drama. Her bowling ability gives her a place in the team, but family expectations create pressure around her future. Through Thangam, the series looks at how talent can be held back by circumstances outside the playing field.

Ayaz Khan as Manikandan

Ayaz Khan plays Manikandan, commonly called Mani. He is part of the core group of students at the academy and is closely connected with Thangam and the other young players. His friendships, insecurities and emotional reactions add a coming-of-age layer to the cricket story, especially as relationships inside the team begin to affect performance and trust.

Akshatha as Theovathy

Akshatha appears as Theovathy, also referred to as Theo. She belongs to the central student group and is involved in several of the friendships and personal tensions that develop around the academy. Her presence helps the series move beyond match results and show the everyday bonds, misunderstandings and growing-up problems faced by the players.

Nikhil Nair as Rishi

Nikhil Nair plays Rishi, a talented young player whose ability at the nets quickly attracts attention. His cricketing promise, however, is matched by pressure from outside the team. Rishi becomes one of the characters through whom the series explores the conflict between a student’s sporting ambition and expectations at home.

Vishwa Mithran as Veera

Vishwa Mithran plays Veera, another member of the academy group. His early storyline becomes tied to ragging and intimidation by senior players, creating one of the first serious tests for the institution and its management. The incident also shows that Rangan’s job is not limited to coaching batting, bowling and fitness; he has to build discipline and trust inside the group.

Smruthi Mohankumar as Minister Tulasi

Smruthi Mohankumar appears as Minister Tulasi. Her character brings a wider public and political dimension into the story and later becomes connected with Rangan and the academy’s future. As the season develops, her presence links the personal journeys of the players with questions of support, influence and the survival of the institution.

LBW Web Series Story

The story begins with Rangan, a former cricket star who is no longer living the life people might expect from someone with his sporting background. He is working as a physical education teacher when Rukmini, connected with the Muthu Nagar Cricket Academy, looks for a way to revive an institution that has lost much of its old strength.

Rangan is drawn back into cricket as a coach. The players he inherits are not a polished team. They come with different skill levels, family problems, rivalries and personal insecurities. Rishi shows natural ability, Thangam fights pressure that could pull her away from the sport, Veera faces bullying, while Mani, Theo, Matheyan and the others try to find their place inside a group that is still learning how to function together.

The academy becomes the centre of the series, but the drama regularly moves beyond practice sessions and matches. Ragging, jealousy, family expectations, financial difficulty, friendships and romantic feelings repeatedly affect the players. Rangan has to decide when to act like a strict coach and when to understand that a student’s problem cannot be solved with cricket advice alone.

At the same time, Rangan is dealing with unfinished parts of his own life. People from his past re-enter the story, and the academy’s future becomes connected with larger decisions made outside the team. This gives LBW two parallel tracks: the effort to rebuild a cricketing legacy and the emotional growth of the people trying to save it.

The title works on more than one level. Cricket gives the series its setting, but the larger focus is on what happens beyond the wicket: pressure at home, old failures, loyalty, love, friendship and the need to start again after losing confidence. Matches matter, yet the series spends just as much time on the relationships that shape the players before they step onto the field.

How Many Episodes Are There in LBW?

LBW: Love Beyond Wicket follows a long-form release model rather than the short eight- or ten-episode structure common to many Indian web series. As of September 2026, Season 1 is listed with 120 episodes. The series began on January 1, 2026, with later episodes released in continuing batches.

Episodes are generally around 22 to 25 minutes long. Early episodes include First Innings, Campus Oath, Morning Runs, Ghost Practice, Dream Wakeup, Footwork and Footwear, Hidden Torture and Revenge Storm. Because the season is much longer than a conventional limited series, viewers can follow the academy and its characters across an extended storyline instead of one compact arc.

LBW OTT Platform and Release Date

LBW: Love Beyond Wicket premiered in India on JioHotstar on January 1, 2026. The original series is in Tamil and has also been made available in multiple Indian-language versions, widening its reach beyond the Tamil audience.

As of September 2026, JioHotstar remains the streaming platform for LBW in India. Since streaming catalogues and language options can change, viewers should check the current platform listing before subscribing specifically to watch the series.

What Kind of Series Is LBW?

LBW is primarily a coming-of-age sports drama. Cricket gives the show its structure, but the story is not limited to tournaments, scoreboards or training sessions. The academy works as a setting for stories about ambition, discipline, family pressure, friendship, rivalry and second chances.

Vikranth’s Rangan provides the adult centre of the series, while the younger cast allows the narrative to shift between several personal journeys. That combination makes LBW closer to an ensemble youth drama with cricket at its heart than a straightforward sports thriller.
