Physics Wallah is a 2022 Hindi biographical drama inspired by the journey of educator Alakh Pandey and the early rise of the education platform associated with his name. Rather than beginning with an already successful teacher, the series focuses on the period when Alakh is still trying to understand what kind of educator he wants to become and how he can reach students beyond the limitations of conventional coaching institutes.
Shriidhar Dubey leads the series as Alakh Pandey, with Anurag Thakur, Radha Bhatt, Anurag Arora, Masood Akhtar, Anjuman Saxena and Ishika Gagneja in important roles. Created by Abhishek Dhandharia and Sameer Mishra, the six-episode season was directed by Abhishek Dhandharia and premiered on Amazon miniTV on December 15, 2022. The series later moved into the Amazon MX Player catalogue, where it continues to be available in India.

Physics Wallah Web Series Cast
Shriidhar Dubey as Alakh Pandey
Shriidhar Dubey plays Alakh Pandey, the teacher at the centre of the series. Alakh is intelligent, unconventional and deeply dissatisfied with an education system that often treats learning as a business rather than a relationship between a teacher and student. He initially joins a coaching institute, but his teaching style and independent thinking frequently put him at odds with the structure around him. The series follows his setbacks, self-doubt and gradual decision to build a different kind of learning platform that can reach students at a lower cost.
Anurag Thakur as Tushar
Anurag Thakur plays Tushar, one of Alakh’s closest friends and a steady presence during the difficult phases of his journey. Tushar sees both Alakh’s talent and his impulsive side. He offers practical support when Alakh’s professional plans fail to move smoothly and remains part of the small circle that believes in him before wider recognition arrives.
Radha Bhatt as Aditi
Radha Bhatt appears as Aditi, Alakh’s elder sister. She represents the family side of the story and is one of the people who understands the pressure he carries. Aditi encourages him at important points while also grounding the series in the ordinary financial and emotional concerns of a family trying to build a more stable future.
Anurag Arora as Vyom Upadhyay
Anurag Arora plays Vyom Upadhyay, an influential figure from the coaching world whose path repeatedly crosses Alakh’s. Vyom becomes closely connected with the professional competition that develops once Alakh begins attracting students on his own. His character helps the series show the commercial pressure inside the coaching industry and the resistance Alakh faces when he refuses to sell or compromise his larger idea.
Masood Akhtar as Alakh’s Father
Masood Akhtar plays Alakh’s father. His character reflects the financial difficulties and expectations surrounding the family during Alakh’s early years. The relationship is not presented only through encouragement; it also carries the tension that comes when a young person chooses an uncertain path instead of a more conventional and financially secure career.
Anjuman Saxena as Alakh’s Mother
Anjuman Saxena plays Alakh’s mother. She provides emotional support within the family and becomes part of the quieter domestic side of the series. Her scenes help balance the larger story about education and entrepreneurship with the personal sacrifices that accompany Alakh’s struggle.
Ishika Gagneja as Shivangi
Ishika Gagneja appears as Shivangi, one of the recurring characters in Alakh’s professional and personal world. Her presence adds to the group of students and young people through whom the series shows how Alakh’s teaching style connects with those who do not respond to rigid classroom methods.
Satyam Sharma as Raju
Satyam Sharma plays Raju, a recurring supporting character who appears across several episodes. Raju is part of the social environment surrounding Alakh as he moves from coaching-centre teaching toward independent online education.

Physics Wallah Web Series Story
The story begins with Alakh Pandey as a bright young man who is frustrated with the rigid way education is delivered around him. He has the ability to explain difficult concepts in a simple way and is drawn toward teaching, but turning that ability into a stable career is not easy. His early work at a coaching centre exposes him to the strengths and weaknesses of the private coaching system and also forces him to confront his own limitations as a teacher.
Alakh wants students to understand concepts instead of memorising them for examinations. That approach earns him affection from learners, but it does not always fit comfortably within the commercial structure of coaching institutes. Professional disagreements and financial uncertainty begin to push him toward the idea that he may have to build something independently if he wants to teach on his own terms.
The series also spends time on Alakh’s personal life. His family worries about financial stability, and his relationships go through difficult phases while he tries to decide what he actually wants from life. Tushar and Aditi remain important sources of support, but Alakh still reaches points where he questions whether his dream is realistic. One episode follows him stepping away from the pressure and searching for a clearer sense of purpose before returning with renewed conviction.
That conviction leads him toward online teaching. Alakh starts a YouTube channel and begins recording lessons, believing that the internet can allow him to teach far more students than a single classroom ever could. The early results are not immediately transformative, and he has to learn how to build an audience, maintain quality and survive without the resources available to established coaching brands.
As his popularity grows, the conflict with the traditional coaching establishment becomes sharper. Vyom Upadhyay and Youth Academy represent a system that wants to protect its market position. Attempts are made to bring Alakh into the existing structure, but he is unwilling to give up control of the idea he is building. When negotiation fails, the pressure becomes more aggressive.
The later episodes focus on whether Alakh can protect his independent platform while continuing to keep education affordable. The series presents success not as one sudden breakthrough but as the result of repeated failures, experimentation and persistence. By the end, the young teacher who once struggled to fit inside someone else’s coaching model has begun establishing an identity of his own, setting the foundation for the larger Physics Wallah journey.

What Kind of Series Is Physics Wallah?
Physics Wallah is a biographical drama centred on education, teaching and entrepreneurship. Although it draws inspiration from the life and career of Alakh Pandey, it is presented as a dramatized series rather than a documentary. Its main interest is the period of struggle before success: teaching in coaching institutes, dealing with financial pressure, finding a personal teaching style and using online video to reach students at scale.
The six-episode format keeps the focus on Alakh’s transformation from an uncertain young teacher into the founder of an independent education venture. Competition with established coaching businesses provides the external conflict, while family expectations, relationships and self-doubt supply the personal side of the story.
