Farzi Web Series Cast

Shahid Kapoor as Sunny

Shahid Kapoor plays Sunny, a talented artist who has grown up around his grandfather’s printing press. Sunny is frustrated by the difference between his creative ability and his financial reality, especially when the press faces closure. His first counterfeit note is created out of desperation, but the quality of his work soon reveals an opportunity that is much bigger and more dangerous. As the season progresses, Sunny becomes increasingly comfortable with money, secrecy and risk, even while he tries to convince himself that he is still in control.

Vijay Sethupathi as Michael Vedanayagam

Vijay Sethupathi plays Michael Vedanayagam, an unconventional law-enforcement officer whose career is focused on fighting counterfeit currency. Michael is intelligent, persistent and willing to pressure the system when he believes bureaucracy is slowing him down. He pushes for a dedicated anti-counterfeiting unit and gradually builds CCFART, the Counterfeiting and Currency Fraud Analysis and Research Team. His professional obsession runs alongside a troubled personal life, particularly his strained relationship with his wife Rekha and their son.

Kay Kay Menon as Mansoor Dalal

Kay Kay Menon appears as Mansoor Dalal, the powerful criminal at the centre of a large counterfeit-money network. Mansoor operates internationally and understands both the business and violence needed to protect his operation. Sunny’s exceptional work catches his attention, and he begins drawing the young artist deeper into organised crime. Mansoor is both a mentor and a threat to Sunny, offering money and status while making it clear that failure or disloyalty can carry serious consequences.

Raashii Khanna as Megha Vyas

Raashii Khanna plays Megha Vyas, an officer connected with the Reserve Bank of India who has developed technology to identify counterfeit notes. Her research initially struggles to receive institutional support, but Michael recognises its value and brings her into CCFART. Megha becomes one of the people most capable of understanding how Sunny’s notes are being produced. Her investigation gains another layer when she unknowingly develops a personal connection with Sunny.

Bhuvan Arora as Firoz

Bhuvan Arora plays Firoz, Sunny’s childhood friend and closest partner. Firoz understands printing and production and becomes essential once Sunny moves from artistic experiments to making counterfeit notes at scale. He is loyal to Sunny but often sees danger more clearly than his friend does. Their friendship gives the series much of its humour and emotional grounding, especially as money begins changing the risks they are willing to take.

Amol Palekar as Madhav Nanu

Amol Palekar plays Madhav, Sunny’s grandfather and the owner of Kranti Patrika, an old printing press and publication. Madhav represents a very different idea of integrity from the world Sunny enters. He values honest work, independent journalism and the purpose behind printing, even when the business is failing. Sunny’s desire to save the press is one of the reasons he first turns to counterfeiting, making Madhav central to the moral conflict behind Sunny’s decisions.

Zakir Hussain as Pawan Gahlot

Zakir Hussain plays Pawan Gahlot, the Finance Minister whom Michael repeatedly pressures for support. Gahlot is involved in approving the anti-counterfeiting task force and the Dhanrakshak system designed to detect fake currency. His scenes show the political and bureaucratic side of the fight, where Michael’s urgency often clashes with administrative caution and self-interest.

Chittaranjan Giri as Yasir Chacha

Chittaranjan Giri appears as Yasir Chacha, a long-time employee at Kranti Patrika and one of the people closest to Madhav and Sunny. Yasir understands the printing press and its history, and he becomes part of Sunny and Firoz’s practical world as the counterfeit operation begins. His presence connects Sunny’s criminal activity with the older institution he originally wanted to protect.

Jaswant Singh Dalal as Shekhar Ahlawat

Jaswant Singh Dalal plays Shekhar Ahlawat, a member of Michael’s anti-counterfeiting team. Shekhar works within CCFART as the unit attempts to identify how the new notes are being made and trace the network moving them through the country. He is part of the operational side of Michael’s investigation.

Regina Cassandra as Rekha Rao

Regina Cassandra plays Rekha Rao, Michael’s estranged wife. Their relationship has suffered because Michael’s professional life repeatedly takes priority over his family. Rekha’s storyline gives the series a more personal view of Michael and shows the cost of his obsession with the job. Their son Vyom remains an important reason the two continue trying to manage their difficult relationship.

Kubbra Sait as Saira

Kubbra Sait appears as Saira, a senior figure connected with Mansoor’s criminal network. Her presence shows that Mansoor operates inside a larger international structure rather than as an isolated counterfeiter. Saira’s authority also reminds Mansoor that he is answerable to people above him, increasing the pressure when his operation begins to attract attention.

Kavya Thapar as Ananya

Kavya Thapar plays Ananya, Sunny’s former girlfriend. She represents a part of Sunny’s life before the counterfeit business begins to transform him. Her appearance also helps establish the social and financial insecurity that shapes some of Sunny’s early resentment.

Other notable cast members include:

  • Vijay Kumar as Jitu Kaka

Farzi Web Series Story

Farzi begins with Sunny trying to keep his grandfather Madhav’s printing press alive. Kranti Patrika has emotional value for the family, but it is losing money and the system around them offers little help. Sunny is already a highly skilled artist and understands printing in unusual detail. When ordinary solutions fail, he and Firoz experiment with producing a counterfeit currency note.

The first successful note changes everything. Sunny realises that his artistic skill can be used to copy the smallest visual details of real currency, while Firoz helps turn that design into a practical printing process. Their initial operation is small, but greed and opportunity quickly push them toward larger quantities. The quality of the notes brings them into contact with Mansoor Dalal, who has the distribution network they lack.

At the same time, Michael Vedanayagam is fighting a much older battle against counterfeiting. He has spent years chasing Mansoor and believes fake currency should be treated as a national-security problem rather than a minor financial crime. Michael pressures Finance Minister Pawan Gahlot to approve a specialist unit, eventually leading to the formation of CCFART.

Megha Vyas becomes a key part of that team. Her work focuses on detecting features that counterfeiters struggle to reproduce, and she begins studying the unusually sophisticated notes entering circulation. Without knowing Sunny’s secret, Megha also crosses paths with him personally. Their growing connection creates one of the season’s central tensions because she is trying to identify the very person she is beginning to trust.

Sunny and Firoz move deeper into Mansoor’s operation as they develop the ‘Supernote’, a counterfeit designed to defeat new detection systems. Their financial life changes rapidly, but the success comes with surveillance, violence and constant fear of betrayal. Sunny also begins losing the moral distance he once kept between himself and the criminals around him.

Michael and Megha gradually close in on the printing method and the supply chain. Both sides use informants and hidden contacts, creating a cat-and-mouse game in which Sunny has information inside CCFART while Michael develops access to Mansoor’s organisation. The final episodes bring the counterfeit shipment, police operation and Sunny’s personal relationships into direct collision.

By the end of the season, Sunny has paid a serious price for entering the counterfeit business. The story does not fully close the conflict between him, Mansoor, Michael and Megha, leaving the next phase of the chase open.

What Kind of Series Is Farzi?

Farzi is a black-comedy crime thriller built around counterfeiting, law enforcement and the way money changes personal choices. The series is not only about printing fake notes. It also uses Sunny’s journey to explore inequality, ambition, status and the temptation to justify illegal choices when legitimate systems appear unfair.

The parallel structure is one of the show’s defining features. Sunny and Firoz represent the people creating the counterfeit money, while Michael and Megha represent the people trying to stop it. Mansoor connects the small-scale criminal experiment with a much larger organised network. The result is a fast-moving crime story that balances humour, family relationships, investigation and escalating danger.
