Raakh Web Series Cast

Ali Fazal as JP (Jayprakash Jatav)

Ali Fazal plays Sub-Inspector Jayprakash Jatav, usually called JP, the police officer who takes charge of the disappearance case. When heavy rain damages evidence and early leads begin to collapse, JP continues pushing the investigation despite pressure from above. His pursuit of the suspects takes the case beyond Delhi and gives the series its investigative spine.

Sonali Bendre as Mona Arora

Sonali Bendre plays Mona Arora, the mother of the missing teenagers. Through Mona, the series shows the emotional devastation faced by a family waiting for answers while the police search expands. Her role gives the crime story a strong family perspective rather than treating the case only as a procedural investigation.

Aamir Bashir as Ashok Arora

Aamir Bashir appears as Ashok Arora, the father of Suman and Sahil. He is caught between grief, uncertainty and the growing public attention surrounding the case. The parents’ experience remains an important part of the drama as the investigation becomes more disturbing.

Akash Makhija as Babu

Akash Makhija plays Babu, one of the two men at the centre of the police manhunt. As investigators uncover more about his past and movements, Babu becomes increasingly important to the darker psychological side of the series.

Ramandeep Yadav as Rajjo

Ramandeep Yadav plays Rajjo, Babu’s associate and the second key figure pursued by the police. The series follows the pair across different cities while gradually revealing how their earlier crimes connect with the Delhi case.

Divya Sharma as Suman Arora

Divya Sharma plays Suman Arora, the teenage girl whose disappearance with her younger brother sets the story in motion. The investigation into what happened to Suman and Sahil drives all eight episodes.

Vivaan Sharma as Sahil Arora

Vivaan Sharma appears as Sahil Arora, Suman’s younger brother. The siblings’ disappearance shocks their family and becomes the starting point for JP’s increasingly difficult search.

Anshul Chauhan as Nisar Rizvi

Anshul Chauhan plays Nisar Rizvi, an important supporting character who appears across much of the season and becomes connected with the developing investigation.

Rakesh Bedi as Ghanshyam

Rakesh Bedi plays Ghanshyam, another recurring character in the period crime drama. His role is linked with the wider social world surrounding the investigation.

Dibyendu Bhattacharya as SP Indranil Hajra

Dibyendu Bhattacharya appears as SP Indranil Hajra, a senior police officer. His character represents the hierarchy and institutional pressure surrounding JP as the case attracts greater attention.

Raakh Web Series Story

Raakh opens in Delhi in 1978, when sixteen-year-old Suman Arora and her younger brother Sahil disappear. What initially appears to be a missing-person case quickly turns into something far more serious. Sub-Inspector Jayprakash Jatav takes charge, but the investigation is immediately complicated by torrential rain, damaged evidence and uncertainty over where the teenagers were last seen.

As JP and his team begin piecing together witness accounts and physical clues, the case takes a darker turn. Evidence points towards two men, Babu and Rajjo, whose movements are connected with other violent crimes. Once the suspects are identified, the investigation changes from a search for the missing siblings into a wider manhunt.

The pursuit moves beyond Delhi as JP follows leads through places including Sonipat, Bombay and Agra. At the same time, the series shows the suspects’ attempts to escape and reveals fragments of their past. This parallel structure allows the story to work both as a police procedural and as a disturbing portrait of the men being hunted.

Political and departmental pressure repeatedly threatens to derail the investigation. JP has to decide whether to follow orders or continue chasing evidence that takes him outside his official boundaries. The tension comes not only from identifying the culprits, but from whether the police can reach them before they disappear again.

Although Raakh is inspired by a real 1978 crime that became nationally known, it uses fictional names and dramatised situations. The series therefore approaches the case as a period crime drama rather than as a documentary reconstruction. Its focus remains on the investigation, the grieving family and the human consequences left behind by the crime.

What Kind of Series Is Raakh?

Raakh is a crime investigation drama with elements of a police procedural, period thriller and psychological crime story. Its 1978 setting is central to the narrative because the investigation unfolds without modern forensic technology, mobile phones or digital tracking.

The show also carries a serious and disturbing tone. It deals with kidnapping, murder, violence and the impact of crime on a family, so it is meant for mature viewers. Rather than turning the case into a conventional action thriller, the eight-episode season spends considerable time on police work, institutional pressure, grief and the pursuit of the suspects.
